On the second Monday of Sawan, 13 Kanwariyas died in accidents at several places. Apart from this, the Kanwariyas who were angry due to their Kanwar being broken or getting injured in accidents created a ruckus. In Kasganj under Braj region, two Kanwariyas died in accidents and one due to heart attack.

Two people lost their lives in a vehicle accident in Agra. A Kanwariya from Bulandshahr died due to heat in Daulatabad, Meerut. A Kanwariya died in an accident near Subharti University. A teenager resting in a Kanwar Seva Camp in Budhana died under suspicious circumstances. Police sent the body for post-mortem.
At the same time, three more Kanwariyas who were injured in a collision between two bikes in Ujhani area of Badayun on Sunday night died. A Kanwariya riding on the second bike died on the spot. In Pratapgarh too, a Kanwariya lost his life in an accident.
In Mainpuri, three devotees were injured in a bus accident and their companions pelted stones at it. In Agra, on the bypass, a bike collided with a tractor-trolley loaded with bricks and a devotee was injured and his companions beat up the driver. In front of Allipur on the Meerut-Bulandshahr highway, people created a ruckus and blocked the highway by alleging that the Kanwar was broken.
